‘Cool Burning’

Part of my’ Bush Fire’ series ‘Cool Burning’ combines acrylic painting with felting, weaving and dried seed heads. The picture reflects the vibrant colours of the Australian outback. ‘Cool burning’ is the act of burning the undergrowth and debris under trees. It reduces the amount of flammable materials available to feed the fires and is a method that has been used for hundreds of years by the indigenous people of Australia
